The game

The word Voodoo will be forever changed for you after you play VooDoo Friends. The three friends and voodoo dolls Newton, Bacon and Ghost discover a mysterious book one day. The book is filled with magic spells, but one in particular catches their attention. Yarnzilla - the world's largest voodoo doll - can be conjured using yarn. A lot of yarn! In fact, they don't know how much it takes, but they set out into the world to find yarn anyway.
Your task is to help your voodoo friends find yarn. In each of the game's levels, there are between 3 and 10 balls of yarn. You must collect them to complete the level for a 3-star score. You can also settle for a lower score by leaving some of the balls of yarn behind.

Voodoo dolls

Controlling the voodoo dolls is easy. You click with the mouse on the puppet you want to move and then click on the place in the track where you want him to go. It doesn't have to be close - he will always choose the shortest path to where you click. That is, if there is at least one way to get there.
The voodoo dolls can only survive a fall on two steps, and no two dolls can stand on the same step. However, each voodoo doll has special abilities:

• Newton - is the world's smallest voodoo doll, but still the leader of the three friends. His size allows him to crawl in where the others cannot go. Newton's laws call the other friends when Newton is in charge!

• Bacon - he is quite overweight, but always full of speed. He's so strong that others can walk on top of him and his weight can activate buttons. Bacon in the oven is not a joke he finds funny!
• 
  


• Ghost - some say he's already dead once in New Orleans. In any case, he's immortal, so he can survive high falls and sharp spikes. He can also jump.

The Needles

Throughout the game, you'll gain access to special voodoo needles. You can stick them into the dolls to give them special abilities. For example, the umbrella pin allows a doll to float down safely to avoid dying when falling on three or more steps. All the different needles will be introduced as you play.
Most levels can only be completed in one way, so it's important to use the needles in exactly the right places. An important detail is that you can only carry a maximum of four different needles at a time - so you cannot collect a fifth type until you have used up one of the other types.

Stars

If you collect all the yarn in a level, you get three stars for the level. If you collect more than two-thirds of the yarn, you get two stars. If you complete the level with less yarn than that, you only get one star.
In the beginning it is not important to get many stars, but the further you get, the more stars you need to unlock new levels.

Score

When you have completed a level you get a score and you can see what the world record for the level is. The score is calculated as follows:

• Each ball of yarn gives you 10,000 points.

• Each step deducts 25 points.

You must collect all the balls of yarn in as few steps as possible to beat the world record.

Tokens

The stars you get are also used to activate up to three Bonus Spins. If you get one star, you also get one spin, while three stars give you three spins - on the last spin you even have the chance to win the bank. The tokens are added to your account as soon as you win them.
You can only get the three Bonus Spins once for each level!

Level Builder

When you have collected 150 stars, you get access to "My levels" where you can build your own levels and make them accessible for your friends. The levels you publish will also be available as beta levels until they have been rated by other players.

To publish a level, you need to play through it yourself and collect all the yarn keys. This is to ensure that you don't create a level that no one can complete. If you want to increase your chances of getting your level rated highly, make sure that there are no needles left over when it is completed. If other players complete your level with excess pins, you will see a small red number on the level - this shows how many pins people have had in excess.

Beta levels

When you have collected 200 stars, you get access to the beta levels.

In the beta level section, you can play randomly selected levels from other players and give them a rating of 1-5. Your rating helps us decide whether or not to release the level.

The token reward for completing a beta track is extra high and you build up so-called beta rank. The more courses you rate, the higher your rank will be.
