| Playandwin Chat Guidelines |

To make sure that everyone gets as much as possible out of the PlayAndWin, there is a set of rules which are to be kept when using PlayAndWin.
To ensure that these rules are observed, there is a number of Chat Admins. For more info, please read the section on Admins further down the page.
The following is a list of things which are not tolerated in profiles, chat and forum.

Spamming, racist and similar statements. |

Personal attacks and filthy language. |

Advertising for products and business websites. |
|
Pornographic, violent, threatening or offensive material in the form of text, pictures and drawings. |
In general, it can be said that you should behave like you would in real life, taking your fellow chatters into consideration. Treat others the way you would like to be treated yourself.
If an admin or PlayAndWin asks you to make changes in your profile, you must do as you are told.
If you choose not to observe the rules, you risk that your profile is deleted and then you can not use your VIP membership.
You are asked to mind
your language at all times of day. Note that, at any given time, children may be present, or people who may be offended by coarse/filthy language, pictures and drawings.
Note that typing in CAPITAL letters is regarded as shouting and is not popular in a chatsite.
If you use capital letters, you might get muted by an admin. Please note that Playandwin.co.uk is an English site, and that all conversations must be in English.
If you are in any doubt as to where the line is drawn, an Admin may be of assistance (You can see who they are on the PlayAndWin front page on the right hand side). Apart from that, use your common sense.

A Chat Administrator is a person who makes sure that the rules are observed. The Admin has a number of extra tools for this, which means that he/she can remove disruptive elements from the chat for a time.
As a rule, an Admin is also a friendly person whom you can go to if you need help, or if there are problems in a chatroom, a profile or the forum.
Technical problems should though be reported to info@playandwin.co.uk.
On Playandwin's start page you can see which Admins are online, and if you hold the mouse above their names, you can see which chatrooms they are in.
The rules and the decisions of an Admin are final, binding and not for discussion. - if you choose to discuss these anyway, you risk being banned from Playandwin's Chat!

These commands are used exactly where you normally type text.
/ignore
Alternates between ignoring a user,
/ignore Peter
- puts Peter on ignore
/ignore Peter
- removes Peter from ignore
/private
Alternates between writing privately to a user,
/private Peter
- and you are writing privately to Peter
/private Peter
- you are no longer writing privately to Peter
/private
Sends a private message to a user without adding the user to the private list. Very smart if you only want to send a single, quick message,
/private Peter Hi there
- sends the message, "hi there" privately to Peter without adding him to the private list.
/profile
shows the user's profile, even if the user is not in chat,
/profile Peter
- shows Peter profile
/users
Changes to the Users screen.
/chat
Changes to the Chat screen.

There are 4 banners in the chat:
· Chat
- This is where you chat in a room. The field at the bottom is the input field where you type text and commands. Above, you can see the chat scroll. Girls in red, guys in blue.
How to type nicks lightning quick
A special feature which makes it easy to type nicks is TAB completion. This means that if you type part of a name and press the tabulator key you will see suggested names beginning with what you typed before you pressed TAB.
An example:
There are 4 people in the chat: Anna, Astrid, Aase and Bette.
Type A and press TAB and now it will say Anna,
press TAB again it will say Astrid,
press TAB again and it will say Aase. After that the list will stat again from the beginning, because Bette doesn't start with an A.
You can also be more specific,
type An and press TAB. Now it will say Anna even if you press again. That is because there is only one option for a person starting with An.
In this way you browse both forwards with TAB and backwards with SHIFT.
TAB completion is sensitive to CAPITAL and small letters. So remember that if you want to write, for example, to Anna and use TAB you have to remember to type a CAPITAL A at the beginning. The same applies to all letters in a user name you want to TAB forward to.
It may seem a little difficult at the beginning, but try practicing a little in the chat, then you'll quickly get the idea :-)
· Users
- Here you can see who is in the same room as you. If you click on a user with the right mouse button, you will bring up a menu where you can select:
- Ignore - Put ignore on/off for a user. If a user is on ignore, you can't see text from this user on the chat.
- Private - Put a user on/off private. If you have one or more users on private, then only they can see what you type. This is popularly called, 'typing in red'. People you are typing privately to will always be at the top of the list of users.
- Profile - Shows the user's chat profile.
· Rooms
- Here you can see a list of chatrooms and change room if you want to. Just click on the room you want to visit.
· Conf
- Provides you with the option of adjusting the chat so it suits you better. The following is possible:
- Bold type - If selected the chat text will be in bold type.
- Background colour - Here you can adjust the colour of the chat field.
- Came in - If selected you can see who comes into the room.
- Left - If selected, you can see when people completely leave the chat.
- Auto focus - Means that the input field at the bottom of the chat is always active, so that you don't have to activate it yourself with the mouse.
- Requires restart - This means that you must close the chat down completely and go back in before your change is shown, remember to 'Save'.
- Save - Saves your changes so that they are remembered when you come back.
If you are still unsure of anything, try first to ask the other nice users in the chat, or find an admin.
