Backgammon
Backgammon has now been updated with new rules and functions.

The most significant change is that there is a new "move style", which means a new way in which the player can move his/her checkers on the board. Now, you move the checkers just like you move cards in Super Solitarie - we call this "Drag 'n Drop". With "Drag 'n Drop" you can change your mind about where you have moved your checkers, and you can move them back. You can also click "reset" to get all your checkers back to the position of departure. Only by clicking "ok" the checkers will be moved finally, and it is the other player's turn. If you prefer to move your checkers the way it has worked before (Click 'n Move), you can do so by clicking "Move Style". The "Move Style" you are using is highligted in green on the right of the "Move Style" button.

If you use "Drag 'n Drop", the checkers you have moved are marked in a darker colour, and you can see where you moved the checkers from. This is shown by a see-through checker which will be seen on the point where the checker has been.

The dices are no longer thrown manually, but are auto-thrown in each round.

If a player does not manage to move his/her checkers in a certain tour, the server will do this automatically. If a player neglects to take his/her tour three times in one game, he/she loses the game automatically. A player also loses if he fails to answer whether we wishes to double.

In addition, there is now a "Give up" button, which can be used when the game looks hopeless and if you wish to end the game. The player who is giving up decides whether he/she wants to give his/her opponent a normal, gammon or backgammon victory. The opponent has the possibility to deny giving up.

Backgammon - Help:
  • To play Backgammon, 2 players are needed - white and orange - each with 15 checkers.

  • White's home board is at the bottom right, while orange's is above.

  • The outer board is on the left side. If you rotate the game board, this is reversed.

To rotate the game board, press the button once, as shown below.

Objective:
The objective of the game is to move all of your checkers to your own home board and then bear them off the board. The playing direction is from the opponent's home board to their outer board, then from your own outer board to your home board.
Starting the Game:
The game starts by each player throwing a dice (if the pips on the dices are the same, throw again). The person with the highest number starts by moving his/her checkers the number of spaces shown by both dices. The players then take turns rolling both dices. Checkers are moved the number of pips shown on the dices. Counting is done in the usual manner (the point that the checker starts on is not counted).
Moving Checkers:
In principle, checkers are moved one dice at a time. In other words, if you want to move one checker using both dices, it must be possible to "stop over" on at least one of the dices. If this is possible, the move will be registered.

A checker may not land on a point on which the opponent has more than one checker.

You must move as much as possible, but if only one dice is used, it must be the highest.

You can hit one of your opponent's checkers home if it is alone on a point (a blot). It is then placed in the middle of the playing board (on the bar).

If you have a checker on the bar, you must re-enter it into the game on the opponent's home board before you can move any other checkers. If the points corresponding to the pips on the dices are occupied, you must remain where you are.

You can move your checkers any way you want (forward and back again), as long as it is by the rules. This means that if you, for example, cancel a move from the bar, then all other moves are also cancelled. To end your turn, click on the dices.
2 of a Kind:
Identical pips on both dices mean you can double your move. For example, if you throw 3+3, you can move 3+3+3+3 with one, two, three, or four checkers - if the rules allow you to do so.

Once you have moved all your checkers home, you must bear them off the board. You do so by moving checkers from those points corresponding to the pips on the dices. If the numbers thrown are greater than the point, and if you don't have any checkers on "higher" points, you can still move a checker off the board. For instance, if you have checkers on point 6 and point 4, and you throw 5-1, then you can move a checker from point 6 to point 1 and off the board from there. If there were no checkers on point 6, however, you would have to take a checker from point 4 with the 5, since there are no other checkers on "higher" points.
Give up:
If the game looks hopeless, you can choose to give up by clicking "Give up". The player who is giving up decides whether he/she wants to give his/her opponent a normal, gammon or backgammon victory. The opponent has the possibility to deny giving up. If giving up is accepted, the game ends and tokens and ratings are calculated as if the player who gave up had lost.
Gammon og Backgammon:
In order to win, you must be the first to bear off all your checkers from the board. If your opponent has removed at least one checker, then the game is won by one point. You earn double points (gammon) if you win and your opponent has not removed any checkers. Points are tripled (backgammon) if you win and your opponent has not removed any checkers, but still has checkers on the bar or on the winner's home board.
Doubling dice:
If you are playing with the doubling dices, you can double your bet. If an opponent clicks on the double, the other person must accept it. If you don't accept the double, you lose the game. If you accept the double, on the other hand, the wager is doubled, and you stay in the game. (You can only play with doubles, however, if the wager is over 0 tokens.)

Once doubles has been played, the dice are traded off. That means that if you have doubled once, you can't double again until your opponent has done the same.
Scoring and Rating:
Before starting the game, each player selected a wager. When playing with a rating, however, some of one's own rating points are jeopardized. If you are playing with a rating, and one of the players wins with gammon, double the amount is won in rating. Winning with backgammon triples the score.
